How to attach an alarm to a metric

Alarm attachment is handled at the Condence Device Manager in the Alarms tab.

Alarm configuration can be handled on all hierarchy levels and they are inherited downwards. Inherited configurations can be overwritten in the lower levels.

Setup key is a collection key which makes publishing alarms to a device easier as multiple alarms can be grouped into one. If left blank the alarm is published to all devices from the current level down next time a configuration is published to a device.

NOTE: Remember to hit enter or click Create in order to create new Setup key.

Target can be left empty. When selected the alarm matches to all targets in the devices configuration. If a value is selected from the list the alarm will match only to a specific targets metrics. The drop down list is populated with all of the targets visible to current level, including inherited ones.

Metric is a required field which attaches to a metric key. The drop down list is populated with names of all of the metrics visible to the current level, including inherited ones. The list is filtered when text is typed into the field.

After selection the name is replaced with the metrics key. The alarm matches to all metrics sharing the same key.

Rule selection is a list of all possible Alarm rules.

Override table allows user to override default threshold values as defined in the alarm rule. One can override one, some or all of the values.

Once created only the threshold overrides are available for editing. Overriden values are marked with *.

If the owner field is blank it means that the current hierarchy level is the owner. Deleting with the trashcan icon is only possible at the owner level.

Same alarm on a child level. Values can be overwritten with the Edit button.
