How to use Anomaly Revealer Zones

This how-to article provides an overview of the Anomaly Revealer Zones feature and how to work with the said feature.

Anomaly Revealer Zones is a visualization tool that complements the existing Anomaly Revealer feature. This new feature provides the users with a detailed view of the operational thresholds that Anomaly Revealer monitors when generating alerts. By offering a clear representation of these levels, users can gain a deeper understanding of the acceptable limits within which their devices operate, enhancing overall situational awareness.

This visualization not only improves situational awareness of how the device runs but also reduces the need for unnecessary configuration efforts, as users can now easily recognize and understand the operational levels. It’s important to note that both Anomaly Revealer and Anomaly Revealer Zones dynamically adjust based on the real-time data detected by Anomaly Revealer, ensuring that the monitoring and alerting process remains accurate and up-to-date.

How to set Anomaly Revealer Zones

First of all, you need to create Alarm Severity Levels that Anomaly Revealer Zones will follow. Please see the Alarm articles for additional information on how to create said severities. After making severities, please create an Anomaly Revealer based on the instructions in the Alarms article. The Anomaly Revealer Zones are applied automatically as you create Anomaly Revealer.

As the Anomaly Revealer will need to collect data before making any information, this will be visible only after the initial Data Window has been filled. Options are 30, 60, 180, or 360 days. If you have no reason to select otherwise, we recommend using 60 days.

How to use Anomaly Revealer Zones

When you have created the Anomaly Revealer and published it to the relevant trend metrics, you may now view your Anomaly Revealer Zones. Please note that Anomaly Revealer Zones are only viewable when looking at the metrics in fullscreen, and this does not work when looking at the metrics in the overview state.

One of the ways you can utilize Anomaly Revealer Zones is that when you receive an alarm, you may click on it in your Dashboard to open it up and view the limits on where the Condence system calculates that the metrics usually run.

When pressing on the alarm, you are greeted with a full-screen view of the metric in question. Press the “Alarm” button on the top of the graph, and select your Anomaly Revealer alarm. This will now show you the Anomaly Revealer Zones.

You can also open up any metric for inspection if you so wish. Open the metric you want to look at. Then select the Alarm dropdown menu and select the Anomaly Revealer alarm you created. Colours will now represent what the Anomaly Revealer has detected.

Please note that all the tools in the Toolbar that you would have used with your metrics are also usable when using Anomaly Revealer Zones.
